Colorado CattleWoman of the Year

Christy Hawk, Black Mesa Cattlewomen

This year’s Cattlewoman of the Year is Christy Hawk, a 32-year member of the Black Mesa Cattlewomen who has, and continues to, work tirelessly on numerous beef and agricultural promotions including beef cookoffs, helping to put a Colorado Beef Council signs on the roads around the county, Mothers/Father’s Day baskets, finishing a huge cookbook project, and serving as President of her local chapter. She also helped organize the Beef sticks for backpacks, and a brand book for local law enforcement to help them know ho to call when cattle get out onto the road.

One of her largest accomplishments was organizing the Ag Expo for Delta County elementary students (5 schools), a two day event that educated over 1300 students where everyone received beef education materials. She is also a long time member of the Delta County Livestock Association, the Colorado Cattlemen, the Hotchkiss Booster Club, Hotchkiss FFA and much more. Christy has a passion for her family and our beef industry.

Congratulations again Christy! We are proud to have you as our 2020 CCW Cattlewoman of the Year!
